Choosing Paper for POS Printers

Device fit and the intended use matter more than a product name alone.

Confirm the printer specification

Start with the manufacturer’s paper width, maximum roll diameter and supported core format. Compare these with the roll you currently use. A familiar width alone does not prove that a different roll will fit.

Discuss paper and print needs

Describe whether the receipt needs only routine short-term readability or a different handling requirement. Ask the supplier for an appropriate paper grade and for documentation about any requested material or chemical property.

Specify the order

Include roll dimensions, quantity, carton configuration, printing or private-label artwork and destination. These details let the supplier confirm what can actually be supplied before commercial terms are agreed.
